Whoops!

I didn’t hold on to my DS tight enough when I pulled it out of my pocket and this happened…
Broken DS!

I called up Nintendo and they said they would fix it for ~$60 USD. They also said I would be DS-less for 20-25 days. :(
At least Nintendo told me it would take a month instead of that “Oh we’ll have your ThinkPad back to you in 3 days!” crap IBM gave me 6 months ago.

  1. That sucks. I just wish NDS supported WPA2. I really don’t want to use WEP just so I can get on the net with my DS.

  2. Wow, I just got my DS back today.

    The hinge is fixed. I thought I’d get a refurb, but it looks like they just repaired mine.
    Unfortunately, they didn’t replace the screen so I still have that dead pixel.

    IBM: We’ll have it back in 3 days! *43 days later…*
    Nintendo: We’ll have it back in a month… *4 days later!*

  3. Heh, the hinge on my DS is starting to crack again. I guess I sat down on it wrong. It still is attached, but the panel doesn’t “click” into place anymore. I’ll keep going until it fully breaks again. I’ve probably got another month or so in it.

    Let’s see, I bought my DS in January of ‘07, lasted me about 6 months, then I broke it and the repair lasted a couple months shy of a year before I broke it again. 1.3_ years isn’t bad. Especially since I play with it averaged about 2 hours a day.

    I’ll probably buy new one when this one breaks, the buttons and touch screen are getting a tad bit worn.
