Way To Go

I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but I’m challenging for a second term course (Java Programming II). I was submitting my application to challenge today when the registrar came out and told me I couldn’t because I didn’t have the prerequisite course. I actually got this course transferred from high school, but he told me I couldn’t because it wasn’t an IB or AP course. I told him about how Dal accepts it, and he said that he had no records, but he said he would call Dal, and do some snooping around and try and figure out what’s going on. I may or may not be able to challenge for the second course, because if they don’t give it to me, they’ll force me to challenge for the 1073 class, making me challenge the 1083 class next term. Since I can only challenge one credit per term, I cannot challenge for the C course that I had planed on challenging next semester.

Lots of paperwork, confusing, and running around. The ball’s out of my court right now, so I’ll have to wait and see what happens.

The Weekend

I had a pretty fun weekend, mixed with actual work, so it was pretty productive and pretty fun at the same time.

Friday night, Bryce, Jason, and myself all went to a house party and had a fun time, but it wasn’t that great because we didn’t know anybody.

Saturday I spent some of the day working away on one of my projects, writing up a few spec documents and doing some background and theory work.

Saturday night I went to the SClub, but had to leave at 1:20ish because of a fire alarm.

Sunday I spent most of the day not doing much (made KD, HC meeting, putting up lights, painting decorations, etc) and fixed a bug in my code.

The house committee put up lights on the empty and sealed off 3rd floor. It was kind of weird to be up there, all the rooms have that “move in smell.” For a lot of the member’s it was a trip down memory lane, naming off who lived where. For me, I thought the neatest thing was the 3p lounge (above the 2p lounge, see picture to the left). There’s also two suite rooms that share their own private bathroom.

Hockey!

Tonight is the hockey game vs STU! Res Life is giving everyone free tickets to go, just to increase the numbers of UNB fans there! I already get in “free” because I have a season pass, but still a good idea.

Today is adventures in chemistry, followed by adventures of the registrars office, then econonmics and calculus. After that lunch avec Bryce, Pat, Jess, etc. After THAT, I need to talk to my advisor to see how to challenge for the credit I have the paper for. Then I need to get a hair cut. Then, providing I have time, sleep, because I didn’t really sleep last night.

Anyways, I need to get ready, have a good day everyone!

3 In One Day? A record!

Hm, tonight sounds like a good night to do work, and then clean. My room needs to be cleaned really badly, and I need to do laundry, and things have just gotten behind.

I’m pretty sure all my classes are going to cause the death of me. Anthropology is just…annoying. I hate how the lectures and the text are almost two completely different things. Oh well though.

Chem Lab Will be the Death of Me

First off, chem lab wasn’t as horrible as I thought it would be. Just too much centerfuging :S. We even got off an hour early and didn’t have to write up much of a report! W00t!

And it’s 3 sleeps till hockey/rock for life. I’m excited for that, I love hockey. 4 sleeps till Nan get’s here! Going to be so much fun! There’s a movie showing on campus saturday night too, so that’ll be a treat.

And finally, the Joy Kidd website will be launching soon. I just have to do up some code, and I’m good as gold! Expect it by the end of the week.

Adventures of the Foggy Goggles

It’s tuesday. Know what that means? Chem lab with ‘Trina. Know what else that means? Spending at least 2 hours in the first year chem lab trying to see through goggles that like to fog up. The problem is, you can’t take them off inside the lab, so you have to walk outside of the lab to de-fog.

Today they’re giving us an unknown mixture of cations for us to try and determine what it is. Should prove to be fun, I had to save our last experiment from certain death (which makes me “fucking awesome” apparently says ‘Trina). This is our second last lab this semester. Then I’m in for another lab next semester. It’s actually kind of nice to be partners with somebody I know, because we can gossip while we mix random chemicals together, or while we wait for the centerfuge to finish.

Shoutouts got to all the people from back home: I can’t wait for christmas!!

Today’s Wise Words

Hmm. Pubcrawl tonight! I’m pumped! Last night I was supposed to go to a party with some friends, but they ended up leaving without me. Oh well, I had fun in my room…stapling a ducttaped popcan. You should see it… alll…ducktapey…and stapled…it’s art! Anyways, I taped other cans together out of bordom as well.

Hopefully tonight will be more interesting!

Wow. It was horrible! It made fun of race, religion, gender, and sexuality. Seriously, very uncalled for. A total waste of my money.

That being said, it’s a quiet weekend here in Joy Kidd. Most people have gone home for the weekend, including all the members of the A-Dot bros. Today is Remembrance Day, so go out and show your respect at 11AM.

If you’re in Fredericton this weekend, UNB has two hockey games lined up, one for Saturday, and one for Sunday. Saturday we’re hosting UPEI and Sunday UdeM.

It Snowed!

Unfortunatly, it’s all gone now.

It’s definitely easy to tell that winter’s setting in. The walks to class are getting colder and colder, and all the leaves are now fallen off the trees. Some of my classes are even starting to talk about the final exams, which they remind us are 4-5 weeks away. Everything else is going fine, and it seems we have a bit of blog revival, even A-Dot is posting strong as ever. Mallory seems to have picked up with two posts in a row. Kaitlyn still needs to get into gear and post more regularly (ignoring my lack of posting).

This weekend is Rememberance Day. UNB doesn’t give us monday off, unlike a lot of other universities, so we don’t have a long weekend. I hear a lot of people are going home for the weekend to party and whatnot. I’m not sure I want to go home though. I think my mother is coming up on Sunday, so it’ll be good to get out.

Tonight after the dreaded CS class, I’m going to the blood donor clinic with Vanessa. It’ll be the first time I’ve given since mid summer. I was supposed to give another time, but they mis-scheduled me for SJ.
